About
An independent, free guide for New England gardeners and small homesteaders.
Gardeners across New England keep asking the same questions in forums: when is it really safe to plant, does Memorial Day still work, how much does my hill or valley change the answer, and who do I ask. For example, Vermonters on r/vermont describe waiting for Memorial Day or even mid-June, and Mainers on r/Maine debate whether the old rule still holds. This site puts NOAA's station freeze data, UNH Extension's per-crop timing rules and a dated directory of Extension, soil-test, seed and preservation sources in one place focused on New England, and shows its sources for every number.
It is not affiliated with NOAA, any university or any company, and it is one of several useful tools (see Data & method). Please read the safety notes.
